At Bebop, we prioritize the security and reliability of our platform for our users. When you use the "You Send" feature, we run a series of validation checks on the input address to ensure its accuracy so that you aren't sending to the wrong address. If you encounter an error when entering an address, please consider the following:

For an Address:

  • The address should be 42 characters long.

  • The address should begin with "0x".

  • Check whether the address has been properly checksummed*. The best way to quickly visualize whether an address is checksummed is to see if it contains both capital and lowercase letters. If it does, it is likely checksummed. Click here to checksum an address.

  • If you are attempting to send to your own address, we recommend conducting a regular trade on Bebop instead of using the "Send to" feature.

For an Ethereum Name Service (ENS):

  • At present, we only allow sending to an ENS on Ethereum.

  • The ENS you are sending to must be registered to the wallet. Here are some instructions for registering an ENS.

If you continue to experience issues with entering an address or have any further questions about this feature, please reach out to a member of our team through Discord or our website's chat feature.

*The checksum verification process in Ethereum helps detect errors that may occur when a user manually enters or copies and pastes an address, and helps ensure that the address is accurate and valid.
